The Job Summary

The main focus of the position; QC Operation Manager is to provide oversight and control of the actual Quality activities in the Fish Processing Plant.

  • The role is responsible for the monitoring and control of the daily operations of the Production, and preparing reports and analysis of each shifts Quality activities, highlight problem areas and improvements that can be made.
  • This is a proactive role and the quality manager will be actively involved in pushing the standards, improving the role of quality in all part of the Processing.

The QC Operation Manager is expected to manage and maintain all systems and processes which ensure the production activities meets the highest quality and hygiene standards and are conducted in line with the relevant internal and external SOP’s and customer and legal requirements.

It is an integral requirement of the role that the QC Operation Manager has a substantial understanding of the operability of certification systems and in particular HACCP, ISO22000, BRC and ISO14001 as well as all relevant issues concerning the Production Process. The QC Operation Manager will be supporting for all internal and external audit processes related to the processing plant and relevant activities.

The QC Operation Manager will need to take a “Hands On” approach to his responsibilities and operate as part of the Processing Plant management team. The Quality Manager will need to lead by working together with his team of Quality staff and Supervisors to drive continuous improvement in SOP’s, standards, productivity, quality and hygiene standards. The QC Operation Manager will coordinate with and support his team of QC staff and Supervisors to ensuring all processing teams are aware of relevant SOP’s and Work Instructions relevant to their duties.

In addition the Role will provide support to negotiate customer specifications ensure that these are met achieved through the production process and investigate / report on customer complaints. As well as maintain internal product specification.

The QC Operation Manager will work closely with the Production Manager, Harvest Operations Manager, Logistics Manager, Shift Supervisors and Quality Controllers. The ability to communicate and coordinate with other Operations Team members will be a critical component of success for this position.

Graduate in Aquaculture, 5 years processing experience in food production, quality function and fish processing experience would be a benefit.
Experience with ISO9001, HAACP, BRC, ISO14001, ISO22000 and BAP and Global GAP.
