Riyadh hosts the Saudi International Marine Exhibition & Conference (SIMEC)

The Saudi International Marine Exhibition & Conference (SIMEC) was held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from January 30 to February 1, 2022 under the sponsorship of His Excellency, the MEWA minister Eng. Abdul Rahman Al-Fadhli, in the presence of ministers from GCC, and MENA regions, as well as high-level delegation from FAO, and a large group of officials and interested participants.

 

NAQUA as the Platinum Sponsor, was honored with the presence of the Managing Director, Eng. Ahmed bin Rashid AlBallaa, who presented insights on the Kingdom’s fisheries and the advantages in this vital sector, as well as investment opportunities.

 

SIMEC's goal is to strengthen the Kingdom's develop international partnerships, creates a scientific platform for exchanging experiences, localizing technologies, and discussing challenges that threaten food security and the sustainability of the aquaculture sector.

 

Participants from 30 countries, included 70 international and local companies, 50 international speakers, 150 international, and 1,500 Saudi businessmen.

 

The aquaculture sector growth at 6%, is one of the fastest growing sectors in the world and supports the national economy, contributing to food security, providing jobs, and developing rural communities in accordance with the Kingdom's Vision 2030.
